Why a Premium level?Over the past 6 years the schools.ik.org service has provided over £4m of fully subsidised websites to education. The product provided free to schools has been the same as that sold to business, with ongoing development being paid for by commercial revenue. An ever increasing number of schools are approaching us with ideas and requests for new features unique to education. These non-commercial enhancements must be funded seperately. The free service continues to be a powerful solution whilst the heavily subsidised Premium service provides ongoing specific educational development.

Upgrade InformationIf your free schools site was created after 25/09/2006 please contact us to request that we upgrade your website. If your free schools site was created before 25/09/2006 it is based in the old system, in which Premium upgrades are no longer possible. Websites in the old system will be automatically transferred in the New Year after which it will be possible to upgrade automatically. IMPORTANT: Please note that once a site has been upgraded it cannot be downgraded to the free site level due to differing site structures. However it is possible to transfer the website address (www.sitename.ik.org) to a new free site. To see if your site qualifies for this offer and for more information please contact us.
